The challenge
Maintenance staff work at the machine, on a touch kiosk with no keyboard; fleet managers work in a browser and need the same data with far more depth. One product had to serve both without forking into two codebases.
My approach
I built a shared React and TypeScript frontend architecture with the kiosk and admin surfaces composed from one component and data layer, backed by NestJS APIs. Infrastructure was automated with Terraform and Ansible on AWS so environments were reproducible and releases were routine rather than manual.
Outcome
The client got a maintainable cross-channel product with automated test coverage and a continuous delivery path, in a small three-person scrum team.
Delivery highlights
- Unified kiosk and web administration on a single component and data layer
- Automated the AWS environment with Terraform and Ansible for reproducible deploys
- Established automated test coverage as a release gate
