The challenge
A production platform used on-site at a major international art event has a hard, immovable deadline and visitor traffic that arrives in sharp peaks. Artwork recognition, guest scheduling, and visitor experience features each needed their own service without the integration surface becoming unmanageable.
My approach
I led backend delivery across a NestJS microservice estate in an Nx monorepo, deployed to Azure Kubernetes Service. Work spanned both the service layer and the platform underneath it — container builds, deployment workflows, and the API contracts holding the services together.
Outcome
The platform ran in production at a major international art event. API reliability and service integration improved measurably across the seven-person scrum team's delivery cycle.
Delivery highlights
- Led backend delivery for a production microservice platform on Azure and AKS
- Worked across service and platform layers in an Nx monorepo
- Improved API reliability and integration within the cloud deployment workflow
